The Studio

Red Moon Studios is a world-class recording studio specialising in film composition and high-end record production. Built in an historic horse stable on 10 acres of bush, the studio is a perfect place to focus, create and make music.

A creative hideaway in a beautiful natural setting within an easy drive of Melbourne's inner north, Red Moon Studio sets the standard for Australian recording spaces.

Originally The Stables Recording Studio, it was designed and built by Evermore front man Jon Hume for the recording of Evermore's albums. Under Jon and Karen Hume’s direction it hosted many pop legends such as Lisa Mitchell, Tina Arena, Delta Goodrem, Shannon Noll, Matt Corby and Sticky Fingers.

Red Moon's live room is spacious and rustic, fitted out with wood, marble and polished concrete. Custom-built acoustic panels create ultimate sonic flexibility. Guitar nerds will be impressed by the unparalleled collection of instruments, including over 35 iconic guitars and basses, an upright piano, Fender Rhodes and Wurlitzer electric pianos, and a range of percussion. The tracking room is a comfortable and well-equipped work space with vocal booth, couches and a whole lot of gear.

Since opening Red Moon Studios in June 2017, Jan has been flat out making music with Aussie Icons such as John Butler, Dan Sultan, AB Original, Gang of Youths, Meg Mac, The Cat Empire and many more, as well as composing the award-winning scores to Picnic at Hanging Rock and Little J and Big Cuz with his dad Cezary; the score for Nolan, an ABC documentary on iconic artist Sidney Nolan; and Halifax: Retribution for the Nine network.
